stevenjSteven has been around the world with his fitness, literally. With his fitness qualifications, along with his Yachtmaster certificate, Steve criss-crossed the globe aboard super-large yachts. His photo here, taken in Dubai, earlier this year, is evidence of where he got to. But now, he is back in the UK, and settling down in London. He enjoys working with beginner and intermediate level clients and looks to get them really into the fitness and healthy lifestyle. Steven combines body weight exercises and resistance training with a circuit-based station style to keep the heart rate elevated and the constant burning of calories. He enjoys working outdoors in parks and open spaces for running drills, agility, balance and co-ordination training, bringing a fun but also vitally extra dimension to your overall health and fitness goals.

Having led a life in the fashion industry for many years as both a model and designer, she felt the high-flying lifestyle was taking a toll on her mental and physical well-being. Donna went on to get fully qualified as a personal trainer and now boasts clients ranging from pre and post natal women to people training for a half marathon. She now uses her life experiences to keep clients from losing perspective and to help find that balance between work and time off for needed relaxation.

Donna emphasises the mental strategy and the philosophy behind fitness. She looks at bringing out the best in you through finding your inner incentives and drive to make a better you through health and fitness. Currently a mother of two and studying for a further sports science degree, Donna is one of our busiest and most in-demand trainers.

YMCA certified in both physical and mental health, she is also an assessor for the YMCA, specialising in competence in exercise to music. But her love is antenatal and postnatal fitness training, so if you are thinking of having a baby or pregnant or have just given birth… Siobhan is the perfect trainer for you!

Siobhan has also worked on cardiac rehabilitation recently and has added that knowledge to her individual training. Hailing from London, she loves powerwalking and works with The Countryside Agency as a walk leader! Another great way to burn the calories. Having worked for all the big sports clubs, Siobhan is now dedicated to her private clients and is looking forward to working with you.

PhilSoamesPhil has worked in the fitness industry ever since leaving Loughborough University in 2003, one of the leading sports science universities in the world. Phil was a member of the University’s Rugby League team as well as the Judo Team. After qualifying for personal training in 2004, Phil worked at Holmes Place and then gained the great opportunity to work for Leicester Tigers at the Oval (their training ground) as a Sports Massage.

In 2005, Phil moved to Paris and worked for Chameleon fitness, the largest and most prestigious home training company in the region. He also taught various classes at the Club Med gyms in Paris such as “body sculpt” and “bums and tums.” Returning to London, Phil again joined up with Holmes Place and became a senior trainer. Having achieved that, he has branched out on his own to become a personal trainer on the move for Get-Fit-At-Home. He says he gets the greatest rewards and enjoyment from working one-to-one outside the gym atmosphere and with great people.

Suzanne - Personal Trainer

suzanneSuzanne has a First from Cambridge University in Physiology (specifically Human Cardiovascular Physiology) and is a fully qualified Personal Trainer. She’s been training people to achieve their own health and fitness goals since university days when she captained Cambridge Cross County running team and represented the university at both Athletics and Cross Country.

Her experience ranges from training beginners to participate in 10k charity running events, to changing the weight and power training regimes of more experienced clients. She is also a Boxercise and Circuits instructor. Her background means that she can cater to a wide variety of needs and levels of experience and welcomes clients from beginners to highly experienced and trained individuals who want to improve their performance. She favours a holistic approach and believes that keeping our bodies in balance goes a long way to keeping all aspects of our life and health under control.

He has helped clients ranging from professional athletes to elderly diabetics which stems from his personal passion and study of both nutritional science and exercise physiology.
After graduating with a BSc in Biochemistry I started to get more and more involved in weight training and martial arts, and, finally, undertook a Masters degree in nutrition in Sydney. Drew is also an ACSM Certified Health and Fitness Instructor. He mentions, “I have worked with a range of clients tailoring solutions to their particular problems and situations, giving them solutions that suit the problem and the person.”

UjuBio1Uju, our own Superwoman, called us over three years ago to ask us to be her running partner. Little did we know she could run the marathon under 3 hours and 15 minutes. Alongside her road running, Uju also works on her cross-country running and partakes in many races down along the South Coast. We spent a year training Uju. She was so hooked with personal training that we guided her through her REPS training and now she is working full-time as a personal trainer having left her job as a fashion designer for one of the leading brands in the UK.

Boxing and boxercise is one of Uju’s favourite exercises for herself and loves to work with clients in this regard. We also dare any client to outrun Uju – she is our best marathon trainer and is planning on running the London 2009 marathon once again to see if she can get under 3 hours this time around. Although his specialty might be martial arts, Guy is a full and rounded personal trainer who works with many of our clients on weight loss, toning and definition. He is certified and accredited in TaeKwonDo, Jiu-Jitsu and Ashihara Karate. Along with his interest in scuba diving, Guy has relied on his training to take him around the world and he spent years in Germany and Europe working as a personal trainer while at the same time teaching English. She specialises in boxing and boxercise, along with disability training: helping those with arthritis and osteoporosis. Francesca’s strengths are core stability and functional training. But she’s not all just about fitness. She loves to travel and eat out – although what she eats out we don’t know as she stays really fit all year long. Must be the number of spin classes she leads throughout London.

Trained in circuit training and exercise to music along with pre and post natal fitness, Michael combines a diverse range of valuable disciplines to create a truly bespoke fitness programme and regime. From his talents in advanced choreography to his certificates in fitness for older adults and Register Of Exercise Professionals Level 3, Michael is able to work with young and old alike in new ways rarely seen or experienced. He has also specialised in working with clients recovering from serious head injuries, helping to create a faster recovery from such injuries.

After earning his M.A., he became an ATP umpire and learned from the pros about diet and fitness. He has always held health and fitness high in his life’s priorities. He is an avid sailor looking to qualify for his Yachtmaster certification later this year.

Personal Trainer - Kettle BellsStepehen says he is “always thinking outside the box.” He has been in the fitness industry for over 5 years, and in that time has seen so many demotivated clients. “You have to vary each and every fitness session and hour” and Stephen prides himself on never having a clients say that he or she is bored with training. Stephen’s specialty is kettlebell training – a fast and highly effective method for toning up and losing weight. One of Stephen’s most used tools is the rings which work with only one’s bodyweight and are able to be attached to anything including a tree in the backyard. “If you can work with rings and kettlebells, you can work with anything!”

As a member of many Latin and Salsa dance companies, she has honed her choreography skills over the years and has combined those skills with her personal training background to create a highly motivational and inspirational dance fitness programme, which she adapts to each and every one of her clients. A workout that passes in a blink of an eye but where the pain in the aching muscles may last for a couple of days! That’s the mark of a great exercise routine and Alex’s dance fitness is a great way to realise your goals.

She passes this new lifestyle and freedom of expression onto each and every one of her clients. As a fitness professional, Donna has taken her expertise to higher and higher levels. Along with resistance training and and free weight expertise, Donna has also completed skeletal, neuromuscular and cardio-respiratory systems studies. She has special knowledge of working with people with asthmatic and coronary issues as well as orthopaedic seniors. Clearly her love for fitness shines through, but somehow she finds time for family and friends and gardening... and her dog! We just don’t know how she does it!
